Pumpkins and Power Tools was Sunday, October 28th!
Our Pumpkins and Power Tools event was a huge success, and a lot of fun! A huge "Thank You!" goes to the Tackitts for generously volunteering to host the event in their home.
As best we can count, the Tackitts hosted 60 people in their home! That's quite a turnout!
We had pumpkin carving, pumpkin painting, a dessert contest, lots of pizza, a fire pit, straw bales, kids in costumes, and above all, fun and friendship.
Thank you so much, everyone, for making this event the success it was. We had a great time!
Pumpkins and Power Tools is Sunday, October 28th!
Mark your calendars, folks. Our next event is on the horizon, and it is messy. The Tackitts, the Burkes, and the Lampes have all foolishly generously volunteered to host the event at their homes.
The Tackitts volunteered first, though, so we'll be spending the evening at their house. Please be in prayer for them.
You didn't think pumpkins were meant to be carved with steak knives, did you? No! We'll carve our pumpkins with a vast array of power tools, including jig saws, power drills, rotary tools, and who knows what else, in a festive celebration of extension cords and plastic sheeting that would make Tim the Tool Man, or at least Gallagher, proud.
This part of the event is BYOP, please.
So the kids won't be left out (and to avoid trips to the Emergency Room), we'll have plenty of small pumpkins on hand for the kiddos to paint, sticker, and otherwise decorate to their hearts' content.
We'll provide the little pumpkins, paint, brushes, and other decorative bits, but feel free to bring whatever else you'd like.
Fall Dessert Contest
If you're so inclined, bring your favorite fall dessert to be judged by a jury of your peers.
We've already seen that we have some pretty accomplished bakers in our class, so you best bring your A-game.
We'll all choose the best carved pumpkin, painted pumpkin, and dessert, and the winners will live in infamy for ages to come.
Or at least a couple of days or so.
We recently came across a rule book that describes how to properly host a social event. The title of the book is, "Whatever You Do, Feed Them".
Accordingly, we'll have plenty of pizza on hand for everyone to enjoy.
The Price of Admission
Everything but your own pumpkins to carve will be provided by the Source Bible Class leaders and the Tackitts.
If you'd like to, please bring a few dollars to contribute toward the cost of the pizza.
The event will be held Sunday, October 28th, 5:30pm at the Tackitts' home.
We'll provide the address during our class time and in emails rather than posting it publicly here on the website.
